Bringing Clean Water to Mithra: Gimpex Charitable Trust's Initiative

MITHRA, derived from the Sanskrit word meaning 'friendship,' symbolizes our commitment to providing a warm and welcoming environment for physically and mentally challenged children. Since its establishment in 1977, MITHRA Rehabilitation Center has been dedicated to offering a variety of rehabilitative services, supporting each child in their journey to walk, talk, and care for themselves. Our mission is to perceive the person, not the disability, and we provide services to all without discrimination of religion, caste, creed, gender, or financial status. Most of the children we serve come from poorer sections of society. Our mission is to provide exceptional services and training to children with special needs, helping them become self-sustaining individuals. By doing so, we enable them to lead lives of dignity and self-respect and become
productive members of society.

We offer residential facilities to those in need, with separate dormitories for boys and girls. Our hostel is supported by a hygienic kitchen and dining hall that provides wholesome food.

Gimpex Charitable Trust has been a consistent supporter of Mithra, donating groceries every month. During a visit with Dr. Sugumar, we learned that the home's RO plant was not functioning, forcing them to purchase 40-50 water cans daily for cooking and drinking. Smt. Nidhi Goenka took the initiative to address this pressing need. With a budget of around 1.5 lakhs, the requirement was communicated to the Rotary team. Together, with the support of Gimpex Trust and the Rotary team, a new RO plant was purchased and
Installed at Mithra. The new RO plant was inaugurated by Smt. Nidhi Goenka and the Rotary team on the 3rd of November, 2023. This initiative has brought much-needed relief to the residents of Mithra, ensuring they have access to clean and safe water for their daily needs.

The installation of the new RO plant at Mithra is a testament to the power of community support and the impact of collective efforts.
